2012 Cadets

The 2012 Cadet program introduces significantly more training with an emphasis on improving performance at the Cadet National Duals as well as Fargo.

2012 MD Cadet National FS/GR Dual Team – Dominate in Daytona

The Maryland State Wrestling Association (MSWA) will sponsor the 2012 Maryland Cadet National Freestyle & Greco-Roman Dual Team.

The team will compete at the USA Wrestling Cadet National Duals in Daytona Beach, Florida June 12-16, 2012.

Wrestlers born in 1996 and 1997 are eligible to represent Maryland on its Cadet Freestyle and Greco-Roman National Dual Team.

2012 USAW Cadet Weight Classes are:

88, 94, 100, 106, 113, 120, 126, 132, 138, 145, 152, 160, 170, 182, 195, 220, 285

2012 MD Cadet Dual program specifics and training opportunities:

  • Freestyle and Greco experience not required
  • Freestyle and Greco practices at Kolat Wrestling Club 6:30 – 7:30PM (Free)
  • Maryland National Dual Team Camp and Clinics (Varying locations in MD – Venues and Clinicians will be posted soon)
    • Clinics each weekend 7 April – 28 Apr 2012 (Will not conflict with Path Events)
    • Intensive Camp 5-6 May 2012
    • Clinicians with proven success in international styles
    • Three sessions/day – Offense, Defense, Counter-Offense, Live Wrestling
    • Each clinic builds on the previous clinic
    • Schoolboys, Cadets, and Juniors encouraged to attend
    • Minimal fee to cover expenses
    • Test newly acquired skills at MSWA Path to Fargo Events (Information at http://marylandwrestling.org/path-tournaments/)
  • Cadet Team selected at 12 May 2012 MSWA FS/GR State Tournament
    • First Place finish in FS or GR guaranteed spot on dual team
    • Alternates selected based on placement

The surest way to make this team is to train hard, take advantage of April training events, and win your spot at the 12 May MSWA FS/GR State Tournament.
