GET ON THE MARYLAND NATIONAL TEAM AND THEN “DO WORK IN YORK”-2017
The Maryland State Wrestling Association (MSWA) will sponsor the 2017 Maryland Cadet National Freestyle & Greco-Roman Team (born 2001-2002 only) as a preparatory program for Fargo bound athletes. The team will compete at the USA Wrestling Cadet National Duals in York, PA June 14 - 18, 2017.
Wrestlers must be willing to try a whole new exciting experience and work hard towards it, and at the same time, have fun along the way. In order to make the team, all are required to attend the events below and significant financial assistance will be received by fulfilling the following requirements:
- participate in 2 Path to Fargo events (or 1 Path event and Northeast Regionals/UWW Cadets)
- participate in and WIN FS and GR States May 13 ($150 deposit due-the stipend splits in half for those who only win one style; additional $250 deposit due at the State tournament for Fargo participants)
- participate in two of the three following training camps at University of Maryland on May 20-21, Mount Saint Joseph HS May 27-28, and/or at Bowerhouse Academy Jun 3-4
- must participate in FS/GR Nationals in Fargo
**Note: The Cadet Dual team is an integral part of the MSWA PATH TO FARGO program, therefore, the spot is awarded first to the highest placing wrestler (at States per style) attending Fargo. For weights that do not have interest, preference for team selection is given to those participating in the USAW National tournament in Fargo. Others may be asked to participate if vacancies are available on the team. Cadet coaching staff will make all final decisions on lineups for the various dual competitions.

CADET DUALS ORDER FORM AND $150 DEPOSIT-due May 13 at states
Hotel rooms for wrestlers staying with other wrestlers is paid for by MSWA. If wrestler stays with parent, the MSWA is not paying for the hotel room. Travel will be coordinated, but families can drive themselves as the venue is within an hour of Baltimore.
