The wrestlers who qualified and chose to go to this year’s USA Wrestling National Champions in Fargo  will be the largest Md contingent ever participating at the event. The team departs on July 13th and returns July 22nd.

After a mediocre turnout last season, this year’s turnout was huge and unfortunately over 200 wrestlers who didn’t pre-register had to be turned away. 100% of all the revenue from the event went to help the UMBC program and their efforts to help bring a new D1 program to MD.

USAW flew in Wynn Michalak from OTC in Colorado Springs to put on a nice clinic between age group sessions. The UMBC crew ran the event and over 300 kids had a great opportunity to work the rust out. USAW provided championship t-shirts and awards for the event at no cost to UMBC.
